Do not confusehear andlisten. You usehear to talk about sounds that you are aware of because they reach your ears. You often usecan withhear.I can hear him yelling and swearing. If you want to say that someone is paying attention to something they can hear, you say that theyare listening to it.He turned on the radio and listened to the news. Note thatlisten is not followed directly by an object. You must always say that you listento something. However, listen can also be used on its own without an object.I was laughing too much to listen.
I can hear him yelling and swearing(我能听见他在大叫大骂)。 He turned on the radio and listened to the news(他打开收音机收听新闻)。 I was laughing too much to listen(我当时笑得太厉害,根本没在听)。

  7. hear也可用作不及物动词,意为“听得见”, hear of〔about〕可表示“听到”“听说”“得知”, hear from意为“收到…

    I often hear her sing.

She is often heard to sing.

    I often hear her sing.
    I often hear her singing.

  3. hear him表示“听见他”,不管是听到讲话,唱歌,读书等,均可;

I have heard of the hero through the press.

要注意的是,在回信时,开首提及收到对方的信,习惯上用receive your letter来代替hear from you。hear from ... that/how等不一定表示“收到……

I hear from him every week.
I have not heard from England for several months.

I have heard from your father that you are in Beijing.

  6. hear

I have often heard you spoken of as a model student.

You can hear something without wanting to, but you can only listen to something deliberately.

hear,hear of, hear about
  • Let us hear your plan.
  • I heard of your plan.
  • I have already heard about your plan.
  • hear, listen
  • I listen but heard nothing.
  • If you listen, you can hear the music.
  • She is listening to music.
  • hear from, receive
  • I haven't heard from him for a long time.
  • I haven't received any letters from him for several months.
  • I hear him sing this song.
  • I hear him singing this song.
  • I heard the door slam.
  • I heard the door slamming

I heard him to dash into the bathroom.

I heard him dash into the bathroom.

He was heard leave the room.

He was heard to leave the room.

I am hearing what he is talking about .

I am listening to what he is talking about .

I'm hearing him singing in the next room.

I can hear him singing in the next room.

Suddenly I could hear a loud bang.

Suddenly I heard a loud bang.

I've heard the news for two weeks.

I heard the news two weeks ago.

It's two weeks since I heard the news.

I've heard the news since last Tuesday.

I heard the news last Tuesday.

I still haven't heard from her.

      hear from...
